This joint started life as a GKN 108mm Porsche 930 CV. It is fitted with polished, shot peened and heat treated Prolinx Ultimate Duty CV Cage, polished 300m centre star and smaller dia bearings for low friction, less parasitic losses and much lower heat build up.
GKN CV Joints are a beneficial addition to many competition applications as the products offer increased joint life, reduced running temperatures which decreases stress on the product and significant weight reduction over standard joints. These features ensure the products can deal with the stresses and strains of many forms of motorsport.
Polishing the runners for friction reduction reduces the strength and endurance of the joint.
By fitting small dia. bearings we acheive the reduction in friction without compromising durability.
