Shock Servicing & Rebuilds

Regular servicing helps maintain damping performance, reliability and consistency, particularly on shocks used in competition, off-road or other demanding applications.

We specialise in servicing and rebuilding FOX shock absorbers in-house, using genuine FOX service parts wherever applicable.

A typical service may include:

  • complete strip-down and inspection;
  • cleaning of internal and external components;
  • replacement of seals, O-rings and other service items as required;
  • inspection of shafts, bodies, pistons and wear surfaces;
  • replacement of shock oil;
  • reassembly and nitrogen charging;
  • checking for leaks, damage or abnormal wear.

Where appropriate, shocks can also be dyno tested to check performance, compare left and right units, confirm rebuild quality or identify damping inconsistencies.

If we find damaged or worn components beyond the normal scope of a service, we will advise you before carrying out additional work.

Servicing Intervals

There is no single service interval that suits every application.

Competition use, heavy off-road work, high operating temperatures and harsh environments will generally require more frequent servicing than normal road use.

If a shock is leaking, has lost damping control, feels noticeably different from its matching unit, or has covered a significant amount of hard use, it is worth having it inspected.
