Bespoke Suspension
Not every vehicle or application can be solved with an off-the-shelf suspension kit.
Prolinx develops bespoke suspension solutions for specialist, competition, off-road and low-volume vehicle applications where standard products are unsuitable or need adapting to meet a specific requirement.
Depending on the project, we can assist with:
- Damper specification and sizing
- Shock absorber selection
- Mounting and packaging requirements
- Spring rate and spring length selection
- Damping development and revalving
- Suspension travel and bump control
- Dyno testing and comparison
- Prototype development and refinement
We can work from vehicle weights, suspension dimensions, motion ratios, intended wheel travel and details of how the vehicle will be used.
Where a project is of sufficient volume and scope, our preferred route is to involve FOX directly in the development process. This allows the final damper specification to be engineered and supported by the factory and, where appropriate, assigned its own FOX part number.
For smaller-volume or one-off applications, we can often develop a suitable solution using existing FOX platforms and components, adapting the specification, valving, springing and installation to suit the vehicle.
This approach allows us to offer a practical route for both individual specialist vehicles and larger development programmes, while involving FOX Factory engineering wherever the scale of the project justifies it.
What We Need From You
The more information we have at the beginning of a project, the more accurately we can assess what is required.
Useful information includes:
- Vehicle make and model
- Front and rear axle weights or corner weights
- Suspension type and geometry
- Available shock mounting dimensions
- Required wheel travel
- Spring dimensions and existing spring rates
- Intended use of the vehicle
- Anticipated production or project volume
- Details of any existing suspension problems or limitations
Photographs, drawings and existing damper part numbers are also extremely useful.
If you are developing a new vehicle, modifying an existing application or simply cannot find a suitable off-the-shelf solution, contact us to discuss the project.
